Why I believe say single people get more peace than married people

My sister just called me this morning to complain about her husband. The man forgot their wedding anniversary and she dey vex. I dey laugh because I just finish counseling a couple where the wife say she no fit breathe again. Meanwhile me wey don marry, I just dey watch my wife sleep peacefully and I thank God say I no dey carry that kind wahala.

Look at it this way. When you single, your only problem na which film to watch on Friday night. When you married, your problem na why your husband no buy the exact brand of Indomie wey you like. Our people say, when you marry, you marry the whole family, including the mother-in-law wey dey call you at 6am to ask if you don eat. Nwanne, I have seen things. I have counseled so many young people wey dey rush into marriage because friends dey post engagement photos. But nobody dey post the part where them dey quarrel about who go do the dishes.

I no say marriage no good. E get why. But people need to stop lying say single life na suffering. Single life na freedom. You fit wake up on Sunday and decide say you no go church, nobody go ask you question. You fit eat garri for dinner and nobody go complain. The thing about life is, we dey envy the next person without knowing their own cross. So before you dey pity your single friend, ask yourself: when last you sleep through the night without somebody snoring for your ear?

Which one you prefer: the peace of single life or the joy of marriage?
