I caught my own mother stealing from my savings for 3 years, I catch her red-handed last week

My mother has been the one keeping my savings for me since I started selling provisions 16 years ago. I trust her with everything. Last week I needed money to restock my shop, so I go to collect my book from her. She say the book don finish, she open new one for me.

I check the old book and I see withdrawals I never make. N5,000 here, N10,000 there. For 3 years she don dey take my money to settle my younger sister's school fees and her own 'urgent' things. When I confront her, she just say 'I don suffer to raise you, small money no be anything.'

I cannot shout. I just dey look at her and remember how she sell akara to feed us. But the betrayal still dey cut deep. She say she go pay back, but I know she no get anything. How I go trust her again? Na my own mother o. 😔
