If you no dey ready for marriage, just stay single joor

I just left a counseling session with a young couple wey don dey plan wedding for next year. The guy dey complain say e no get money, the girl dey say she no wan wait anymore. I just sit down there dey look dem, and I say to myself, this one no be love, this one na pressure.

Look at it this way, marriage no be do or die affair. If you no dey ready, if you no get stable income, if you still dey think about your ex, if you no fit control your temper, then why you dey rush? Our people say, when a child washes his hands, he eats with elders. But this generation dey wan chop before dem wash hand. I have seen too many marriages wey collapse because two people just dey do am for show, to satisfy family, to post on Instagram, to prove say dem get somebody.

I no be God, but I know say the best thing wey fit happen to you na to know yourself before you give yourself to somebody. So my question be, if you get 5 million naira now, you go use am do wedding or you go invest am for your future first?
