VeryDarkMan tells Tinubu: your APC governors in Osun prove this election is already compromised

Social media activist VeryDarkMan has called out President Bola Tinubu directly over the Osun State governorship election happening today, Saturday 15 August 2026. His charge is simple: sending APC governors and senators from across the country to Osun is not about observation, it is about intimidation and manipulation. He said, and I quote, "Sending your APC governors and senators to OSUN shows the election won't be credible and fair."

In a video posted on his Instagram page, VeryDarkMan addressed the President by his handle, @officialasiwajubat, and did not mince words. He accused the President of building "the kind of political bullying, oppressive structure you have put on ground with APC" and warned that if anything happens to Tinubu today, there will be serious problems even for his family. He asked directly: "Tell me why you have APC governors going to observe the Osun election if not to go and bully, oppress and manipulate the election results?"

He also referenced the history of the Adeleke family's electoral battles, saying the outcome is already clear given "the illegality that has happened before now." He was careful to say he is not campaigning for Adeleke, pointing out that if the incumbent had performed well he would not need to campaign, citing Alex Otti as an example. But his final demand to the President was unambiguous: "LET HIS PEOPLE DECIDE in a free and fair election. today IS THE DAY."

I have seen this pattern before, from the Second Republic to now. When a government sends its heavyweights to a polling state, it is not to observe, it is to overawe. The question I keep asking myself is simple: if the APC truly believed they would win Osun on the merits of their candidate, why deploy the entire federal apparatus to a state election? What are they afraid of?
