Adeleke says police officer from Port Harcourt imported to disrupt Osun election

Governor Ademola Adeleke has raised a serious alarm that a police officer identified as "London" from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has been brought into Osun State to cause unrest and disrupt the ongoing governorship election. He made this statement shortly after casting his vote at Sagba Abogunde Ward 2, Unit 9, in Ede North Local Government Area.

Adeleke, who is the Accord Party candidate, directly appealed to the Inspector-General of Police and all security agencies, saying, "I want the Inspector-General of Police and all the security agencies to watch out, to be on the lookout for a police officer from Port Harcourt." He also alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has plans to illegally bypass the established electoral collation process, stating, "I have it on authority that they don't want to go through the normal process from units to ward and to local government."

This is a serious allegation that goes to the heart of our electoral integrity. If true, it means some people are prepared to undermine the will of the people. The question is, will the police authorities take this complaint seriously and investigate, or will it be swept under the carpet like so many others?
