APC vote buying exposed in Osun, voters chase them with evidence

Voters at Ward 4, Unit 7 in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State caught suspected APC supporters sharing money during Saturday's governorship election, and the confrontation was captured on video. The incident happened around 9:30 am, with a similar case reported at Unit 13 about an hour later. One voter said the accused fled with a polythene bag of cash, telling the camera: "We don't know how much was there. They ran away and used a polythene bag to take the money away."

What makes this particularly brazen is that it happened at the polling unit of Najeem Folasayo Salaam, the ADC governorship candidate known as Iwaloye. The voters displayed recovered money and an APC card as proof, with one saying: "This is the evidence. The card they used belongs to the APC, and their logo is on it." They also noted the rule was clear: "The rule given to us was that we should not give money to anyone. We did not cause any trouble; we were only running after them."

So the question is simple: if the APC is this desperate in Osun, what confidence can anyone have that the result will reflect the true will of the people? Or is vote buying now just the accepted price of doing politics in Nigeria?
