INEC declares Adeleke winner of Osun election with 66,252 margin

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election. INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, who is the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, announced the final results and returned Adeleke as the winner.

Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who secured 444,815 votes. The margin of victory stood at 66,252 votes, with Adeleke winning in 19 local government areas while Oyebamiji took 11.

Jubilation has already erupted among Adeleke's supporters across Osun as the governor secures a fresh mandate after a closely contested election. The question now is whether the APC will accept this outcome or head to the tribunal again.
