I paid my sister's school fees and she told her friends I'm a Yahoo boy

My sister just finished her first year at UNN. Accounting. I dey pay everything. Fees, accommodation, feeding, even the little 'handouts' money dem dey collect for school.

Last week I went to visit her in Nsukka with some provisions. As I enter her hostel, one of her roommates was like 'so this is the Yahoo boy wey dey send our sister money?' My sister laughed and said 'he no be yahoo boy, he be hustler'. But the damage don done.

I just smiled and carried the bag inside. I no talk anything. But inside me I was broken. All these years I dey sell phones and accessories for Aba, waking up by 5am, managing wahala, just to make sure she no suffer. And this is how she dey describe me to her friends.

I no tell her say I was hurt. I just tell her say 'make I go, I get meeting'. On my way back to Aba I was thinking, this is the same girl wey I carry on my back when she was small. The same girl wey I used to buy biscuits for with my sweet money. Now she dey see me as somebody wey dey do yahoo.

I no blame her sha. This generation don make everything about money. If you dey hustle hard and you dey young, dem go think say you dey do something else. But e still pain me. I just pray make she finish this school and become somebody. Then she go understand say the 'yahoo' I dey do na the real hustle.
