Nigerian parents be sending voice notes that last longer than my attention span

My mum just sent me a 4 minute voice note about how I'm "wasting my youth" because I didn't eat the leftover rice before going out. FOUR MINUTES. About RICE. Meanwhile she once spent 30 seconds deciding whether to tell me my uncle died.

I swear our parents think voice notes are free therapy. They'll record a whole TED talk about why you should stop buying data bundles, and the data you used to listen to it could have bought you the bundles. The math is not mathing.

Anyway I replied with a thumbs up emoji. She called me. I didn't pick up. She sent another voice note. I'm now the villain in her 5 part documentary series 😭
