Food prices don tire me, but the real gist na the yam I bought today

See ehn, I went to Mile 12 market this morning to buy yam for the house. The woman wey I dey buy from for the past three years just look at me and say 'my son, this yam na 3,500 now'. Last month e no pass 2,800. I just stand there dey calculate how many times I go chop this week.

The thing wey wound me pass na the way she talk am like e no be anything. Like I suppose just smile and pay. I no even argue, I just pick the smallest one wey dey look like e fit feed one person and pay. On my way back, I dey think say this inflation wey dem dey talk for news, na we dey feel am for market. Dem go talk say inflation don ease, but the yam wey I dey buy don increase by 700 naira in one month. Make it make sense.

Anyway, I don learn my lesson. Next time I go buy yam, I go buy from the woman wey dey sell near my office for Yaba. At least if she go increase price, I fit argue with her for pidgin and she go understand. But ehn, this life sef, no be so?
