Inflation drops on paper, but your market bag says otherwise, who are we supposed to believe?

The government's own numbers show headline inflation falling for two months straight, yet food inflation has climbed for six months in a row, hitting 20.31 percent. Meanwhile, a former bank boss is openly calling the official figures fake news, insisting the real inflation rate is between 35 and 40 percent based on what people actually pay for garri and pepper. So which is it, are we being gaslit by statistics, or is the market lying to us? If the price of one orange is still N15 instead of N5, does any of these "drops" even matter for your pocket?
