Inflation drop means nothing when market still dey wound us

They say inflation fall to 15.43% for July. I read the headline this morning and I just laugh. From where I sit in Abuja, nothing change. I buy rice last week, the price almost make me drop my phone. The economists dey talk about food prices still rising even with the drop. That is... something.

My sister called me yesterday from Kaduna, she say a bag of rice wey cost this much last month now cost more. The policy says one thing, the reality says another. As a working mother, I calculate everything before I step into the market. Even the small wins for the economy no reach my pocket.

I have seen this play out before. The system is slow but it moves eventually. But this one, I no sure when the movement go reach us. How market dey treat una for your side?
