I was robbed in Lekki and my 'big sister' laughed at me

Last week, armed robbers collected my phone and bag right in front of my gate in Lekki. They didn't even touch me, just pointed the gun and said 'give me everything'. I was shaking but I handed over my iPhone and my last ₦5,000 cash.

When I told my big sister, the one I helped pay her rent last year, she laughed and said 'see what social media has done to you, you and your influencer life'. I just stood there. I didn't even cry until I got home.

That night I recorded a voice note to myself, like I always do. I said, 'Temitope, the same people you carry for your head will be the ones to step on it'. Now I move with pepper spray and my phone stays in my bra. Lesson: not everyone clapping for you is happy for you. Who has ever helped someone and regretted it? 🙄
