Fayose says Atiku and Obi have already lost 2027, only miracle can save them

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has finally said what many of us have been thinking quietly. He appeared on TVC's Politics Tonight and declared that Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi have already lost the 2027 presidential election. He said unless a miracle brings them together, there is no headway for either of them.

Fayose also touched on the Kwankwaso issue, saying some parts of the North are angry that Rabiu Kwankwaso agreed to be Obi's running mate. In his words, "In Kano, a lot of people are aggrieved that Kwankwaso is deputising Obi." He went further to say, "Obi has lost already; Atiku has lost already. Except there is a miracle of them coming together, there is no headway."

Now, I have watched Nigerian politics long enough to know that Fayose is not always right, but this time his logic is difficult to fault. He reminded us that Asiwaju won an election without INEC, without the police, without all the government's strength. So how can a divided opposition expect to unseat him? The man is not even subtle about it. He said, "It's too late for a united front because INEC has accredited everybody."

Some people will say Fayose is just being a loyal APC supporter, but let us be honest with ourselves. The opposition has spent the last three years fighting each other instead of building a coalition. Now they want to form a united front in 2027? As Fayose put it, "You have put your feet in the water, so you are already wet." Are we really expecting a miracle, or are we just deceiving ourselves?
