My grandma called me fat and I almost cried in the market 😭

So I went to the village last week to see my grandmother. First thing she says when she sees me: "Chiamaka, you don grow well o. You don eat all the money wey your papa dey send?"

I was standing there in my oversized blazer and baggy jeans, feeling myself. The woman just looked at me like I was a bag of garri that had swollen. She even called my aunty to come and see. "See this girl, she don become round."

I laughed but lowkey it stung. Then I remembered my grandma still thinks sending money to her every month means I'm rich. She doesn't know I'm just surviving. But honestly, being called fat by someone who loves you is better than being called broke by someone who doesn't. At least the food is working 😭
