So the same lawmakers who fought for financial autonomy in 2023 are now ready to repeal it because the governor’s executive bill says so? Workers and even lawyers are blocking the chamber, saying this is a slap on the independence of the judiciary and the House itself. If autonomy was good enough when Obaseki was there, why is it suddenly a problem under Okpebholo , or is this just how power works in Nigeria, where one man’s “reform” is another man’s “revenge”?
