I Was a Security Guard in Ilorin. The Woman I Protected Was the One Who Almost Destroyed Me.

Back in 2019, I was 27, just finished my service year, and I took a job as a night guard at a small estate in Ilorin. The pay was poor, 18,000 naira a month, but it kept me off the streets. The woman in the last house, Mrs. Bello, was always kind to me. She would bring me tea and sometimes food. I thought she was just a good woman. One night, she called me inside. Said her husband was traveling and she was scared. I went in, she offered me a drink. Before I knew it, she was touching me. I was young, confused, and she was the madam. I did what she wanted. It happened three times that month. She gave me 50,000 naira after the first time and told me to keep quiet. Omo, I was ashamed. I stopped eating the food she brought. I started praying before my shift. The last time, she said if I ever told anyone, she would tell the police I tried to rape her. I left that job the next week without collecting my final pay. I have never told anyone until now. I learned that kindness can be a trap, and that a man's dignity is worth more than any naira. If someone is offering you something too fast, run. And always trust your own spirit, not the sweet words of a person in power.
