ASUU Strike Threat Returns: Atiku Asks Tinubu Where The Subsidy Money Dey

A

Atiku Abubakar don ask President Tinubu to explain where the billions from fuel subsidy removal dey, and honestly this ASUU strike threat is making everybody nervous again. The ASUU president Chris Piwuna said after their emergency NEC meeting at University of Abuja that they go strike within the shortest time possible if government no settle the December 2025 agreement. Atiku said in a statement by Phrank Shaibu that "If the subsidy is gone and Nigerians have paid for that decision through unprecedented hardship, then President Tinubu owes the country a simple answer: where is the money?"

See the thing wey pain me pass na when Atiku talk say you cannot dey boast about record allocations while students sit at home because lecturers dey strike. That one hit different. We don pay higher fuel, higher transport, higher food, higher school fees, all on top promise say subsidy savings go enter education and healthcare. ASUU even talk say pension deductions and check-off dues never remit for months. As a corper wey just leave school, I know people wey their final year still hanging because of one strike or another.

The December 2025 agreement wey dem talk about, was it implemented? Because if government sign agreement and no do am, then why we dey surprised say ASUU dey threaten strike again. Public university students don suffer enough. So my question be this: if truly subsidy money dey flow to states like dem claim, why our lecture halls still dey look like abandoned building? Be honest, who else feel like this cycle never go end?
