Anambra State Police Command has confirmed it will charge 36-year-old Anulika Onyeanusia to court after she allegedly used sex toys on her daughter during a livestream video that has been trending online. The mother of four was arrested on Thursday, 10 September in Onitsha alongside her husband, and police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga told BBC News Pidgin that she has confessed to the act.
Ikenga stated: "She confess say she use sex toy on her daughter inside di video." He added that the woman made no claim that the content was AI-generated, saying: "I neva hear her tok say na AI content. We dey do all di neccesary tins to charge her to court." Police rescued four children aged 2, 3, 6 and 9 from the couple, and recovered sex toys and other items relevant to the investigation. Anambra Commissioner of Police Nnanna Oji described the act as "unacceptable becos e involve di exploitation and abuse of children wey no fit protect demsefs."
The video showed Anulika raising her daughter's leg while calling for donations, with the child crying and screaming in the background. This is a sobering reminder of how much evil can hide behind a phone screen. What kind of protection exists for children in homes where the abuser is the parent?
