Fuel don reach N1,500 per litre and I'm calculating my life in litres now

My feeding budget for this week was 17,500. That is 2,500 per day, seven days, that is the mathematics I have been doing since 200L. Now fuel is almost N1,500 per litre and I sat down last night to recalculate everything. The bus from UNN gate to Ogbete that was N300 last semester is now N500. Keke that was N200 is now N350. My 2,500 per day cannot carry transport plus food plus data plus the small handout photocopy money. Something must give.

What pained me is that it is not just me. The woman who sells rice at the buka near my hostel reduced her portion last week. Same price, smaller spoon. I asked her why and she said the gas she uses to cook don increase, plus the transport to buy the rice don increase. So the squeeze is moving from one person to the next until it reaches the person with the least power, which is me and her and every student in this school.

My roommate said we should start cooking in the hostel to save money. I laughed because we cannot even afford the garri we are fighting over. But seriously, how are we supposed to survive this? I am not asking government anything, I just want to know how other students are managing. Abeg, if you have a formula that works, tell me. Because my own calculation is not adding up at all.
