Petrol don reach N1,500 and I'm doing the math on my own life

My guy sent me a screenshot this morning, petrol hitting N1,500 per litre. I just sat there looking at it like, ehn? So the fuel I bought last month at a price I was already complaining about is now the good old days.

Let me break it down the way I break down everything. I fill my tank once a week, that's roughly 50 litres. At N1,500 that's N75,000 a month just to move my car. My rent in VI is already doing me strong thing, NEPA bill is a separate comedy, and now fuel wants to be the main character. Technically I could work from home full time but my family already thinks remote work means I'm unemployed, so imagine adding 'I don't drive out' to that gist.

The part that gets me is the businesses. Every small shop, every okada man, every trader in the market, they all pass this cost down until it lands on somebody's plate of rice. Correlation is not causation but this one is pretty direct. At what point does the average Lagos person just stop calculating and start crying?
