Fayose Says Tinubu Will Beat Atiku and Obi in 2027, And He Made It Sound Like Maths

Ayo Fayose went on Channels TV Politics Today on Tuesday and said flat out that President Bola Tinubu will defeat Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi in 2027, whether they run together or separately. His exact words: "Today when you go by the book, in what way will Obi and Atiku, even if they come together, this man, President Tinubu, will still defeat them. But let us say that they didn't come together, too bad for them."

What got me is the way he backed it up. He pointed at the Southwest and asked who exactly is voting for Obi or Atiku in Ekiti, Osun, Ondo. He even dragged Obasanjo into it, reminding everybody how the third term bid failed because of what he called an unwritten constitution inside our politics. That part is the real gist. Fayose is not talking about popularity, he is talking about structure and regional arithmetic, and honestly that is how this country has always worked.

But here is where I want us to argue. Is Fayose predicting an outcome, or is he just telling us how the game is rigged before the whistle even blows? Because if five or six million votes difference in one zone is already a settled matter in 2026, then what exactly are we doing in 2027? Be honest, does anybody still believe the ballot box decides this thing, or we are just watching a script play out?
