Olu Jacobs is gone and Nollywood will never be the same, I'm actually crying

Woke up this morning, opened my phone, and the first thing I saw was that Olu Jacobs has passed. At 84. I just sat there on my bed for like five minutes.

My mum used to watch him in 'The Village Headmaster' back in the day. She said that man was the reason she fell in love with acting. And then he gave us 'Blood Money', 'The Royal Hibiscus Hotel', all those films. The man carried Nollywood on his back before Nollywood even knew what it was.

I saw the tributes from Tinubu and other Nigerians and it hit me. We don't celebrate our legends enough while they are here. We wait until they are gone before we start posting their pictures and writing long captions.

Rest well, Olu Jacobs. You did your own. But this one pain me sha. Nollywood really lost a giant today.
