American beef? Sanusi talk true, our market no dey ready for that fight

I was in Ariaria yesterday morning buying fabric for my mother's shop when I heard two men arguing about American beef. One man said it will make meat cheaper for everybody. The other man just shook his head and said 'wait small time, you go see.'

Sanusi said the beef market is open now and it will wipe out livestock. I don't know about policy, but I know market. If frozen beef from America lands here at a price that undercuts our own, the man selling cow in the village will not survive it. He cannot compete with a container. That is not even about politics, that is just arithmetic.

But here is my real question. If American beef is cheap and our own beef is expensive, wetin you go buy when you enter market? Be honest.
