Makinde Says He Will Defeat Tinubu In 2027, From Ibadan Yesterday

Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State governor and now APM presidential candidate, said it plain in Ibadan yesterday: he will defeat President Bola Tinubu in 2027. He said it while receiving APC members who defected to APM from different parts of Oyo State.

His exact words: "God has signed off on what we are doing, and that is why it is raining. Today, we are welcoming thousands of APC members into the Allied Peoples' Movement (APM), and this shows that our victory is only a matter of time. We will win massively in all elections in 2027." He also told the APC gubernatorial candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, to stop criticising his administration and face the APM candidate, Bimbo Adekanmbi.

Me I am just watching from Kano. Defection is not new thing for us here, we see it every four years. But the rain part is what I want someone to explain to me. God signed off because rain fell? Wallahi I need to hear how that logic works. Be honest, is it only me that thinks this 2027 talk is starting too early?
