Any man who cannot pray for 1 hour has no business proposing

I said what I said. A brother sat in my office last week, talking about how he wants to marry his girlfriend but he is not sure he is ready. I asked him one simple question. When last did you pray for more than 10 minutes? He started looking at the ceiling. The ceiling has no answer for him.

Look at it this way. If you cannot sit still with God for one hour, how will you sit still with one woman for 40 years? The same discipline is the same muscle. I have counselled couples for 11 years and I am telling you, the men who fold under pressure are the same men who never built a prayer life. It is not about being a pastor. It is about having somewhere to put your frustration that is not your wife's head.

My wife is a pharmacist. She works 12 hour shifts. When she comes home tired, she does not need a husband who is also tired and complaining. She needs a man who has already emptied his own cup somewhere else. That somewhere is the place of prayer. Nwanne, I am not saying pray so you can be holy. I am saying pray so you can be bearable.

So my question for the men on this app. Be honest. When last did you pray for one full hour without checking your phone?
