Wike Finally Opens Up: How We Stopped Peter Obi In Rivers

Nyesom Wike has finally said it with his full chest. The FCT Minister sat down on TVC News on Monday and admitted that he and the G-5 governors deliberately stopped Peter Obi from winning Rivers State in the 2023 presidential election.

His exact words: "It was only Rivers State where we said, No, we have a problem here in Rivers. Obi will not win here. If he wins, he will send a signal somewhere. We stopped it." And then the part that should worry everybody: "I can tell you authoritatively now that Obi can't win the South-South."

So this was never about the people of Rivers. It was about sending a signal to Atiku Abubakar. Wike said it plainly, that they allowed Labour Party to take parts of the South-South just to stop Atiku, but Rivers was where they drew the line. The same Rivers where Obi's supporters swore they won. This is why I keep telling people that the 2023 election result was not about votes, it was about arrangements. So be honest, if a man can sit on national TV and admit he stopped another candidate from winning a state, what exactly is left of this democracy we are celebrating?
