Peter Okoye Tells Court He Received Over $800,000 From SACEM

Peter Okoye has told a Federal High Court in Lagos that he received more than $800,000 in royalties from France-based music rights organisation SACEM for P-Square songs. He said the money was for the artists, that is him and his twin brother Paul, and that Jude Okoye received nothing from those payments.

When his lawyer asked if he told Jude about the money, Peter replied: "No, the money was for the artists." He also said "Jude is not part of P-Square" and insisted that he and Paul wrote, composed and produced all P-Square songs, though he admitted Jude directed some of the group's music videos.

The EFCC is charging Jude and his company Northside Music Limited over alleged fraud involving N1.3 billion and $1 million, and Jude has pleaded not guilty. The case was adjourned until December 8 and 9, 2026. So who really owns P-Square royalties, the artists or the manager? This one go scatter family finish.
