Wike Just Admitted The G5 Gave South-South To Obi On Purpose
about 1 month ago
Nyesom Wike sat down on TVC's Journalists' Hangout on Monday and openly confessed that the G5 governors handed the South-South to Peter Obi in 2023, not because they loved Obi, but because they wanted to wound Atiku Abubakar. His exact words: "We said, PDP is stronger in the south-south. And our problem would be Atiku. Therefore, instead of Atiku to take it, let it go to the Labour Party." He even added that in Rivers he blocked Obi, saying "Obi would not win here because if he does, it would send a wrong signal somewhere."
Read that again slowly. Five sitting governors, people elected on the PDP platform, sat in a room and decided to trade their own party's stronghold to a rival candidate as punishment for one man. In Ibadan we have a proverb: when two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers. The grass here was the voter. The man in Warri, the woman in Uyo, the trader in Port Harcourt, all of them queued under the sun and cast a ballot that had already been spent in a private meeting before they arrived. Wike is not confessing out of remorse. He is confessing because the calculation has shifted and he now wants us to see him as the honest man in the room.
Then he capped it with the real message: "What people need now, Obi does not have it and he would never have it. So for 2027, leave it for Tinubu. Come back in 2031." A man who helped engineer a defeat is now the one telling you who is electable and who is not. If this is how our politics works, then the ballot box is just decoration and the real election happens in somebody's parlour. Be honest with yourself: if you knew your vote was being traded like this in advance, would you still have gone out that morning?
