Aisha Yesufu Tackles Wike Over G5 Senate Claims, Says 'Wike Lied'

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has been openly accused of lying by Aisha Yesufu, the NDC chieftain, over his claim that the G5 governors deliberately allowed Peter Obi to win South-South states in the 2023 presidential election to weaken Atiku Abubakar. Wike insisted the strategy was intentional and that Rivers was excluded because they did not want Obi to win there.

Yesufu fired back on X on Wednesday, pointing to the 2023 senatorial elections involving three G5 members. She wrote: "Wike LIED!!!!! 3 of the G5 Governors ran for Senate. They all lost! If Wike was that powerful how come he couldn't give them a win on an election that was on the same day and time! Wike is petrified of life outside of government!!!! E don dey clear for I'm eye!"

This is the kind of political revisionism that should worry every Nigerian voter ahead of 2027. If three G5 governors could not deliver Senate seats in their own strongholds, what exactly is the political machine Wike keeps boasting about? The man is fighting for relevance, not for the people. Am I the only one that thinks this whole G5 story is just noise to distract us from real issues?
