UK removed Nigerian teachers because of Gmail address? Na wa oh

I saw this news today and I just sat down. They said Nigeria and Ghana trained teachers were removed from the UK qualification list because they used Gmail and Hotmail addresses on their applications. Gmail. The same email my own daughter uses to apply for her part time job at Tesco.
