Umahi Says He Hates Peter Obi's 'Go And Verify' — But Why?

David Umahi say he hate hearing Peter Obi talk 'go and verify' and honestly, that one sentence tell me plenty about how some people dey think for this country. The Minister of Works was in a video wey go viral on Wednesday, and he said straight: "I hate hearing this statement he always makes, 'go and verify.'"

But wait. Since when did asking people to check facts become an insult? Peter Obi don dey use that phrase for years, telling Nigerians to check records, documents, public spending, his own time as governor. That is what a leader suppose to do. In Benin City we have a saying, if you no want person to check your work, maybe your work no dey correct.

So my question for Umahi and everybody wey dey vex about 'go and verify' is simple. If the records clean, why the annoyance? Be honest, abi the problem no be the phrase, na wetin the verification go show?
