Peter Obi Says He And His Wife Are Godparents To Soludo's Children

Peter Obi has come out to say that he and his wife are godparents to Charles Soludo's children, and that they are not quarrelling at all. He said this on Friday while addressing the Nigerian Guild of Editors, in the middle of the whole back and forth about whether his government left debts in Anambra State.

His exact words were, "I and my wife are godparents to Soludo's children. We are that close. so we are not quarrelling and we will never quarrel." He also said if he sees Soludo any day, he will hug him. On the debt matter, Obi insisted he left no debt, that he is the only governor who saved about 150 million dollars, and he pointed to Otti confirming it that morning on Arise TV. His words: "I left 150 million dollars in savings. No other governor has left dollars. If you see one, tell me."

Now this is where I want us to argue. If you and a man are that close, godparents to his children, then why is his government the one putting out statements about debts you left behind? Either the godparent talk is politics, or the debt talk is politics. Both cannot be true at the same time. Be honest with me, if your close friend's family was publicly accusing you of something you say you never did, would you be talking about hugging him, or would you be asking him questions in private?
