That Ndifon judgment hit different because I know what lecturers do

Reading that Court of Appeal upheld the two-year sentence for Professor Cyril Ndifon, the former Unical law dean, and I just sat there staring at my phone. Because the thing is, every Nigerian student knows that fear. You know the one. The lecturer who holds your grade hostage and you are calculating in your head whether to beg, report, or just carry your cross quietly.

I remember one of my friends in uni, she failed a course twice. Twice. Same lecturer. She was not dumb, she was actually one of the smartest people in our set. But she refused to play along with whatever that man was asking for. She graduated late. She cried on my shoulder the day she saw her result. I never forgot it.

So when I saw the judgment today, I felt something. Not joy exactly. Just... recognition. The system rarely holds them. Today it did. But my friend still graduated late. And that man's other victims, where are they now?
