My roommate finished my garri and I almost lost my scholarship

Second year, that scholarship was the only thing keeping me in UNN. My roommate knew. We were sharing everything, food, data, even my Coursera login. Then the results came out and my name was not on the list. I cried inside the toilet that night, quiet quiet.

Three weeks later I found out he had been going to the department office, telling them I was planning to transfer, that my documents were not complete. He wanted the slot for his cousin. The same boy I was buying garri for when his money finished.

I did not fight him. I just packed my things and moved to another hostel. But I have never trusted a roommate since. Not fully. God forgive me, but that thing changed how I see people who smile at me too much.
