Traders are lacing staples with industrial dye, sawdust and candle wax just to fake colour and bulk, while the average buyer has no way to tell the difference until it's already in the soup. So who exactly is supposed to be protecting the Nigerian market, or have we all agreed that survival means eating whatever looks red enough?
