Umahi Says He Killed PDP And Wike Is Still His Friend

Dave Umahi has just said out loud what many people in the Southeast have been whispering for years. The Minister of Works, while inspecting the Abakaliki-Afikpo section of the Cross River-Ebonyi-Benue-Abuja Trans-Saharan Highway, claimed that he killed the Peoples Democratic Party when he left it. Not just left it. Killed it.

His exact words: "I killed the PDP when I left PDP, whether they are alive again and if they are alive we have to unalive them because the PDP did not treat the people of the Southeast well." He also said Nyesom Wike is his good friend and brother, but there is no rainbow coalition in Ebonyi State. So the FCT Minister can bring his candidates, but they cannot break the relationship. And then the warning: "Anybody that wants to campaign in Ebonyi is free but if you want to foment crisis, we will run you out of the state."

This is a sitting minister of the Federal Republic speaking like a warlord about a political party. The same PDP that gave him a platform. The same PDP that made him governor. Now he is saying they maltreated the Southeast, so he had to finish them. And he is doing it while inspecting a road. The road is not even finished. But the political obituary is already written. The question is simple: if he can kill a party and still call Wike his brother, what stops him from doing the same to anyone else in 2027?
