Faduri Claims Labour Party Won 2023 Election, Says He Handed Ticket To Peter Obi
about 1 month ago
Joseph Faduri, the Action Alliance presidential aspirant, said on Arise Television last Thursday that the Labour Party won the 2023 presidential election. He claimed he personally handed the LP ticket to Peter Obi in 2022 and told Nigerians then that LP would win.
Faduri said, "In 2022, I was the one who handed over the ticket to run for the election under the Labour Party, and I was here also to inform Nigerians that LP would win that election. And, like a joke, at the end of the day, we had Labour Party win that election." INEC had announced Bola Tinubu of the APC as winner with 37 percent, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP got 29 percent, and Peter Obi came third with 25 percent.
He also accused INEC Chairman Joash Amupitan of ignoring a Court of Appeal order recognising Kenneth Udeze as the authentic AA leader, saying Amupitan is sticking with a High Court judgment from Osogbo instead. Faduri said, "The reason is best known to him." So we are now hearing this in September 2026, two years after the matter was settled. What exactly is Faduri trying to achieve with this statement now?
