My Roommate Sold My Textbook and Used the Money to Buy Indomie

Went to read for my 8am Econometrics test this morning, opened my bag, the textbook was gone. Not misplaced. Gone. I tore that room apart like a mad person, checked under the bunk, inside my box, everywhere. Nothing.

Long story short, my roommate Chidi had taken my Principles of Econometrics to a second hand book seller near the school gate and collected 3,500 naira for it. When I confronted him, this boy looked me in the eye and said he was hungry, that he used the money to buy two cartons of Indomie and some eggs. Two cartons. For one person. In one week.

The book cost me 12,000 naira. I had to beg a course mate to lend me his own copy just to read for the test. And the annoying part? Chidi still has the nerve to ask me for garri in the evening like nothing happened. I don't even know how to be angry anymore. Is it normal to fight your roommate over food or am I the one overreacting?
