My 13-year-old sister asked me for ₦50k for 'a project' and I said no. Am I wicked?

So my younger sister, Tolu, she's 13, called me yesterday evening. Voice small small. "Aunty Temi, I need fifty thousand naira for a school project." Fifty?? For what, a science fair rocket to the moon? 😭

I asked her to send me the list. She sent a screenshot of a WhatsApp message from some girl in her class. No school letterhead. No teacher's number. Just "bring your own materials, budget is 50k." The audacity of whoever drafted that nonsense.

I told her no and she started crying, saying I'm stingy because I live in Lekki. That one pained me sha. But I sent the screenshot to her class teacher this morning. Let's see who is lying. If I'm wrong, I'll apologise and buy her the materials myself. If I'm right... chai.
