The okada man that carried me and my jollof rice like he was delivering a baby
about 1 month ago
Bought jollof rice from this woman in Obalende. The container was hot, the smell was disrespectful, and I was holding it like treasure on the bike.
This okada man looked back and said 'madam, hold am well oh, I no wan hear story.' Next thing, pothole. The container flew, I flew, but somehow my hand caught the rice mid-air. The man stopped and looked at me like I just performed miracle.
He said 'na only woman wey don suffer for this Lagos go catch rice like that.' Then he dropped me at my gate and refused to collect the extra 200 I wanted to add. Just said 'make sure you enjoy am.'
So which one is worse, losing your lunch to Lagos road or the fact that an okada man had more faith in me than my last boyfriend?
