Super Eagles Humiliated 3-0 By Guinea-Bissau In Bissau
about 1 month ago
Guinea-Bissau dismantled the Super Eagles 3-0 in Bissau yesterday, and the scoreline does not flatter them one bit. Franculino Djú opened the scoring after escaping down the right and dribbling past Bruno Onyemaechi before beating Stanley Nwabali, and Nigeria never recovered.
Mama Baldé added a second in the 66th minute, and a third in stoppage time sealed a result that puts Guinea-Bissau three points clear at the top of Group L. Nigeria now sit second with three points from two matches.
Both teams came into this fixture having won their opening game, so this was supposed to decide who takes early control of the group. Instead, the Eagles failed to threaten the hosts for most of the first half. How do we explain conceding three to a country with a fraction of our football resources?
