A Man Brought His Own Gavel To Court Today. I Am Not Joking.

Court was already running late this morning because the generator was misbehaving, and just as we settled in for the land matter, the defendant walked in carrying his own gavel. Small wooden thing, carved, with his name burnt into the handle. He placed it on the table like he was the one presiding.

My brother, the courtroom went quiet. Even the senior lawyer who had been shouting since morning just looked at the man. The judge adjusted his glasses and asked him one simple question. "Who told you this is your courtroom?" The man said he had been watching too many American films and he wanted to feel important. Ah!
