I saw N4,000/$ for the first time and my chest just did gbim

My guy sent me a link on WhatsApp this morning, something about the naira going to N4,000 per dollar if fuel subsidy comes back. I read it twice. Then I went to check my GTBank alert from last week when my mum sent me 5k for transport. Five thousand naira. That's less than $4 now at ₦1,360. Four dollars. For a whole week of transport.

I sat on my bunk and just laughed small. Because last semester I was calculating how to save $200 for a Coursera specialization, and now that same $200 is ₦272,000. My monthly feeding money is ₦75,000 if I'm disciplined. So the math is not mathing at all. I'm studying Economics but this economy is studying me back.

My roommate asked me what's wrong and I told him nothing. But the truth is, every time I open my calculator app to plan my japa savings, the numbers just dey laugh at me. I still believe I'll leave this place one day. But at this rate, will the door still be open when I finally gather the money?
