🎖️CorporalThe day I told my mother to give her life savings to the church

This thing happened around 2014. I was still a young pastor then, full of fire and not much sense. My mother had saved about ₦800,000 from her nursing job, small small, over many years. She was planning to use it for her shop. I went to her and said, 'Mama, give it as seed offering. God will multiply it.' She looked at me, asked me twice if I was sure. I said yes. She gave it.Three months later, my father collapsed. Stroke. We rushed him to UNTH. The bill was something else. We didn't have the money. My mother went to the church, but the church had used the money for building. I saw my mother cry for the first time in my adult life. She didn't blame me with her mouth, but her eyes asked me questions I couldn't answer. We sold her shop. We managed. My father survived but he was never the same. My mother never stepped into that church again. And me? I almost left the ministry. That experience taught me something: God is not a vending machine, and faith is not a transaction. Now when I counsel young people about giving, I tell them: give from your excess, not your rent. Give with joy, not with fear. And never, ever encourage someone to give what they need to survive. I have seen things, nwanne. I have seen things.
