Yari Says Don't Blame Tinubu for Insecurity, Nigerians Are Not Buying It

Senator Abdulaziz Yari has come out to say President Bola Tinubu should not be blamed alone for the insecurity in this country, and his reason is that former President Muhammadu Buhari was a retired army general and still could not end the problem. Yari said this on Monday in Birnin Kebbi while visiting Governor Nasir Idris and traditional rulers, and he even asked, "If a retired general did his best but could not completely tackle insecurity, what do you expect of President Tinubu, who is not a general?"

That logic is exactly why many Nigerians are angry. Buhari spent eight years and failed, and instead of that being a reason to demand more from the next government, Yari is using it as an excuse. He also said Tinubu has done his utmost best to address the security challenges, but try telling that to families in Kaduna, Zamfara, or Benue who still bury their people every week.

Yari is confident APC will win Kebbi and deliver victory for Tinubu in 2027, but this kind of talk is why young people are tired. If a general could not do it, why should we accept a president who is not even trying to be one? Be honest, does Yari have a point or is this just another excuse from the same people?
