Rufai Oseni just finished Tinubu over fuel subsidy and Egypt comparison

Rufai Oseni said on Arise Morning Show that life is better in Egypt than Nigeria, and he aimed the comment straight at President Bola Tinubu over the fuel subsidy matter. Tinubu had told the City Boys Movement in Abuja on Monday that Nigeria would not return to fuel subsidy, and Rufai was not having it.

He asked, "Does President Tinubu know that all the human development indices in Egypt is better than that of Nigeria?" Then he dropped the numbers: Egypt has 100% access to power and over 63,000 megawatts of electricity, while Nigeria's education budget is about 0.5 percent of GDP against Egypt's 2.5 percent. Rufai finished with, "So in terms of going back to Egypt, is it not better for somebody to be in a country where electricity works?"

Me, I am not an Arise anchor, but I sell in Balogun and I know what diesel and generator do to my cost. If Egypt can give 100% power, then the subsidy argument is not about going back, it is about where the money they removed actually went. Be honest, if your light was steady, would you even remember subsidy?
