APC is already panicking about Peter Obi and it's only 2026
14 days ago
Mogaji Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC spokesman, released a statement yesterday titled '2027: Peter Obi and the Expiration Date of Political Momentum' and honestly, the title alone tells you everything. He claims Peter Obi's popularity is fading and that the Obidient movement has no structure to win in 2027. But here is what caught my attention: he said all this without citing a single poll or any data. Just vibes and assumptions.
Oladejo also questioned Obi's 'go and verify' slogan, saying credibility should be built on verifiable records, not repeated assurances. Fair point on paper. But coming from the APC spokesman in Lagos, a party that has controlled the state for over two decades, it sounds more like fear than analysis. If Obi is truly finished, why dedicate a whole statement to him in October 2026?
We have seen this movie before. In 2022, they dismissed the movement too. Then the youth turned up in numbers that shocked everyone. So when an APC spokesman starts writing essays about Peter Obi's expiration date, I just laugh. Be honest, does this statement make you more confident in APC or less?
