My cousin's school fee nearly finished me but I no fit stop

Three years ago my younger cousin call me say she wan learn UI design. I look at her, look at my account balance that month, and just sigh. Consulting work had been dry for weeks. But I tell her make she go ahead, I go handle the fee.

Nobody for my family know say na me dey pay. Not her mother, not my own father. Every month I dey transfer that money, I dey look my account, I dey calculate. Some months e pain me well well. But she no ever ask me for extra. She just send me her progress, her small projects, her first client.

Last week she call me, voice dey shake. She say she don get her first proper job. And she say she wan start paying me back. I tell her no. But inside me, something shift. Maybe this is why we hustle. Not for the money we keep, but for the people we carry along. Abi?
