Wike Says Rivers Is For Tinubu, Calls Obi A Fake Man

Nyesom Wike stood in Port Harcourt today and told the Rivers Rainbow Coalition that Rivers State belongs to Bola Tinubu in 2027. He did not stop there. He called Atiku Abubakar a man who does not keep his word and he called Peter Obi a fake man.

His exact words on Atiku: "I have been in the same party with Atiku Abubakar. He is not a man who keeps to his words. What he says in the night is not what he says in the morning." On Obi he said, "You can make him the president of social media so that he can be going to IDP camps to be celebrating their birthdays and buying corn on the road." Whether you like Wike or not, the man knows how to throw a punch.

But here is my problem. Wike says Rivers will support Tinubu because 49 Rivers indigenes hold federal appointments and because of the Bonny-Bodo road. Is that all it takes? Appointments and one road? The same way we were told to queue behind candidates in 2015 and 2019 and 2023, and the same promises are being recycled for 2027. My father complained about the same roads in Ibadan in 1985. I am complaining about them now. At what point do we stop clapping for politicians who insult our intelligence with token appointments?

Wike can call Obi a social media president but the man he is backing has been president for over a year and the naira is still dancing. Let us argue this. If you are from Rivers, does 49 appointments and one bridge buy your vote? Be honest.
